POSITION

The Quality Software Test Engineer is responsible for reducing internal defects in the software products produced as part of the TransitMaster™ product suite.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be able to develop use test cases to examine software requirements
  • Manages all use test cases to assure completion of assigned D#'s in the time allotted during the software testing sequence
  • Owns the D number testing process
  • Escalates TransitMaster™ defects per the TeamTrack process
  • Responsible for scheduling lab resources relating to building software testing environment
  • Acts as a quality gate between Development Engineering and the deployment process
  • Works software quality issues with the Development and Deployment Team(s)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of TransitMaster applications is preferred but not required
  • Experience with networking, MS Windows environments, and SQL Server and Oracle is a must
  • Must be able to create and/or provide reports relating to software defect analysis
  • Must be able to read and understand development requirements documents and translate into use test cases to assure conformance
  • Must be able to load software applications onto lab equipment and set up connections to existing customer test database sets
  • Keen to learn and keep up with new technology
  • Overall direction is provided by the Manager of System Integration Test
  • Day to day decisions will be based on activities required to deliver a quality software product per the announced software delivery schedule
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • This position requires the capability to produce job related documentation in the form of reports
  • This position requires the ability to communicate clearly and professionally under pressure.
  • Bachelor degree in a technical discipline with proven training in network administration and/or computer programming a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience
